THE ANCIENT STORY OF EDREMİT OLIVE OIL
A Heritage of Thousands of Years Olive cultivation in the Ida Mountains (Kazdağları) and the Gulf of Edremit spans a history of over two thousand years. Ancient olive pits and oil storage jars preserved from antiquity demonstrate that the olive represents a deeply rooted living culture in these lands. For centuries, the people of the region transformed olives into oil using traditional methods, pressing them in wooden and stone screw-presses.
Transition to Modern Production With the establishment of the first processing mills in the 1870s, Edremit became one of the primary centers of olive oil production. Over time, although traditional presses gave way to modern facilities, the reverence for the olive tree and the culture of craft production have remained entirely unchanged.
ZEYRAZADE The olive groves of Edremit, Havran, Zeytinli, Güre, and Altınoluk continue to sustain this heritage through the unique climate and pristine air of the Ida Mountains. Zeyrazade unites the deep-rooted expertise of the Gulf of Edremit with a forward-looking vision, carrying this pure legacy into the future.
